Traditional Roast Vegetables

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Toss a selection of seasonal vegetables such as carrots, parsnips, and potatoes in organic sunflower oil, salt, and pepper. Roast for 30-40 minutes until golden and tender. Serve as a delicious side dish for a plant-based Sunday roast.

Sunflower Oil and Herb Salad Dressing

Create a light and refreshing salad dressing by whisking together organic sunflower oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and a selection of fresh herbs such as parsley, chives, and dill. Drizzle over a mixed green salad for a burst of flavour and a healthy dose of omega-3 fatty acids.

Sunflower Oil Chocolate Chip Cookies

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, whisk sugars, oil, water, and vanilla until smooth. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet, then fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Divide the dough into 18 portions, chill for 12–24 hours, and preheat the oven to 350°F. Place dough balls on parchment-lined sheets, sprinkle with sea salt, and bake for 12–13 minutes until edges are golden. For smaller cookies, halve the portions and bake for 10 minutes. Cool completely before serving.

The History of Organic Sunflower Oil

Organic sunflower oil has a rich history dating back to ancient times, with its origins traced to Native American tribes who first cultivated sunflowers around 3000 BCE. The oil was extracted from the seeds and used for cooking, medicinal purposes, and as a skin moisturizer. In the 18th century, Russian farmers began mass-producing sunflower oil, leading to its widespread popularity in Europe. Today, organic sunflower oil is celebrated for its health benefits and versatility in cooking. Its heritage as a natural and nutritious oil continues to be cherished, making it a staple in kitchens around the world.
