Chive and Garlic Butter

Blend organic chives with softened butter and minced garlic. Form the mixture into a log using parchment paper and refrigerate until solid. Slice the flavoured butter and add it to enhance the taste of roasted potatoes or steamed vegetables.

Chive and Potato Soup

Create a comforting and flavourful soup by sautéing organic chives with onions and garlic. Add diced potatoes, and vegetable stock, and simmer until the potatoes are tender. Blend the mixture until smooth, then stir in a splash of cashew cream and season with salt and pepper. Garnish with a sprinkle of chives before serving.

Chive Infused Olive Oil

Infuse extra virgin olive oil with organic chives by heating the oil and chives in a saucepan over low heat for 5-10 minutes. Let the mixture cool, then strain out the chives. Use the infused oil as a drizzle over salads, and roasted vegetables, or as a dipping oil for crusty bread.

The History of Organic Chives

Organic chives date back to ancient civilisations, where they were revered for their culinary and medicinal properties. Believed to have originated in Asia, chives were cultivated by the ancient Chinese and Egyptians for their flavour and healing properties. Over time, they made their way to Europe, where they became a staple in traditional British cuisine. Today, organic chives are celebrated for their delicate onion flavour and are favoured for their health benefits and versatility in cooking. Their heritage as a cherished herb with both culinary and medicinal significance continues to make them a beloved ingredient in kitchens across the UK and beyond.
