The History of Organic Spelt Flour

Organic spelt flour has a rich history dating back to ancient civilisations, particularly in Europe. Spelt, an ancient grain, was a staple in the diets of early Europeans and has been cultivated for over 7,000 years. Its heritage can be traced to the Bronze Age, where it was a key ingredient in traditional bread-making. In recent years, the resurgence of interest in ancient grains and organic farming has led to a renewed appreciation for spelt flour. Its nutty flavour and nutritional benefits have made it a popular choice for health-conscious consumers seeking an alternative to modern wheat flour.
